Vigil of prayers for Ukraine, Sunday 6th March 2022

There will be a vigil of prayers for Ukraine on Sunday 6th March outside the Lych-gate at
10.50 with coffee in the parish room afterwards.  The church will be open to light candles,
private prayer or to share your concerns with others.

Pierre’s cafe, 13th March 2022

Pierre’s monthly cafe will be held on the second Sunday in March.

You can never have enough pancakes, so although Shrove Tuesday has passed, Pierre will be cooking sweet and savoury Brittany pancakes with a variety of fillings at his next pop-up cafe.  We will be open between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 13th March for home-made croissants, pains au chocolat and apricot pastries.  Good selection of desserts and cakes.  Gluten-free and vegan alternatives available.  Booking for lunch is advised.  Eat in or take away.  Please call or text Pierre on 07545 214940.

Pierre’s monthly cafe will be held on the second Sunday in January.

The village hall will be open between 10am and 4pm for home-made croissants and pains au chocolat in the morning. Lunch will be a chicken or vegan tagine. For dessert, the French traditionally eat a ‘galette des rois’ at this time of year, which is a type of pie filled with an almond paste.

Pierre’s monthly cafe will be held on the first Sunday in December, rather than the second Sunday in the month as usual.

The village hall will be open between 10am and 4pm for home-made croissants and pains au chocolat in the morning. Lunch will be a French-inspired dish, and as it’s Christmas there will be a French yule log for dessert.

Gittisham Fruit and Flower Show 2021

Saturday 7th August 2021

Show opens 2.30 pm at the Village Hall

After the 2020 lockdown, the annual show is back.  We aim to encourage all of us to grow and make things for ourselves, our friends and our family, and to inspire us to be creative.

The show is open to all residents of Gittisham parish, which includes Gittisham Vale and the Hayne Farm estate.  We also welcome entries from those who no longer live in the parish, those who actively support the parish, and those with close links to the parish.

Parish Council meetings in 2021

Parish Council meetings are held in the Parish Room from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month, except when notified. Meetings remaining in 2021:

  • 4 November (village hall)
  • 9 December (village hall)
